#1 - A Pure Plates nutritional coach will assist you in your meal selection with a one-on-one consultation about your eating habits. The consultation is always free regardless if you choose to partake in a challenge or just want to learn about healthy eating.

#2 - You can choose the meals and schedule you want to follow yourself.

CONTEST RULES

  1. Contest runs from July 13th to August 12th, 2023
  2. Success in the program will be measured by total percentage of weight lost by each contestant. The highest percentage of weight lost at the end of 30 days will determine the winner(s)
  3. You must order at least 40 meals from Pure Plates during the 30-day challenge to be eligible to win. This will help you to focus on eating good nutritious food that is loaded with nutrients and healthy fiber that will ensure you get results both internally and externally.
  4. There will be both a male and female weight loss category. The winner of each division will each be Awarded $500 in meal credits to Pure Plates.
  5. Each Week, you must send in your updated weight by either weighing in at home and taking a picture of the scale, or stopping by our Chesterfield store to weigh in. Send all updates to rmoebes@pureplatesstl.com

NOTE: The average person loses 8-18lbs during the Pure Plates 30 Day Challenge process.

The program is designed to:

Why Your Meals Are So Important

The key to weight loss is achieving a negative energy balance or taking in less calories than you burn. To shed a single pound, you need to achieve a 3,500-calorie deficit. So, if you're following the 80/20 ratio, you'd want to burn approximately 750 calories through exercise and cut an additional 3,000 calories through dieting. That’s a total deficit of 3,750 calories for the week.

The reason dieting is so much more effective than exercise or working out is because it takes a ton of activity to create a 500 to 700 calorie deficit through working out. Essentially, you’d need to run seven to 10 miles a day to lose one pound a week. The average person can’t keep this up, especially without increasing their caloric intake.

People think, If I run the marathon, train with weights, or start going to boot camp, I’m going to lose weight’ but they’re often disappointed when they don’t.

You don't need to hit an exact 80/20 ratio to shed pounds, but it is important for you to focus primarily on eating our meals during this 30-Day Challenge if you’re trying to lose weight. You can lose weight without exercise, but you cannot lose weight if your nutrition counteracts your energy expenditure through working out.

Did you know that the average meal at a restaurant usually doubles or triples what a “normal” portion size is supposed to be? And what is a “normal” portion size?

Steps to prepare for success

  1. Follow the 30-Day Challenge Eating Plan we provide for you (or that you order for yourself) Remember that you can’t out exercise a bad diet. If you stick to the eating plan and we have it outlined, you WILL get results. You’re only cheating yourself if you don’t stay disciplined and give it your all. It’s only 30 days to a new you!
  2. Make your daily exercise a MUST! Whether it’s taking a brisk 20-30 minute walk everyday or doing full on workouts at the gym, you MUST be doing something daily to get your heart rate up. Check your email inbox for a folder of bodyweight workouts you can do at home. Just as you know you’re going to eat breakfast every day, make a simple workout just as important. They will be the real catalyst that get you results even better than you were expecting. You’ll be a better (and happier) parent, spouse, friend and employee if you make your health a priority. Don’t wish for it, work for it. (And again, if you already have a workout plan, go ahead and follow that. The Most important thing is that you’re getting some sort of exercise for at least 20-30 minutes a day)
  3. Document your transformation Take your “before” pictures and record your measurements, weight and any other measurement you want to keep track of. At the end of the 30 days, make sure to do the exact same thing. NOTE: We HIGHLY recommend you use a body tracking app to help document your progress. A great one that is free in the app store is called the “Progress Body Tracker”) Sharing your progress on social media with the Pure Plates community over the next 30 days will be inspiring. Just use the hashtag #PPSummerSlimdown.   4. Know your WHY Write down the top 3 reasons you are doing the 30-Day Challenge. Put them somewhere you can see them every day to remind yourself why you’re doing this. If you change your thoughts and focus on a goal, you can and WILL change your body.
  5. Surround Yourself with Success Remember that we all do better when we have others around us encouraging us and pushing us through the tough moments. Surround yourself with positive people. Doing so provides you an encouraging, emotionally healthy environment in which to invest in yourself. #1 – Hydration is key!

We simply cannot begin to stress how important staying hydrated will be to not only the success of your Fresh Start 30 experience, but to keeping your body working properly and efficiently on a daily basis moving forward. Water roughly comprises 60% of the human body’s composition. It serves as a lubricant for just about every one of our bodily functions. It also plays a vital role in detoxifying and flushing your system. Think about your car, if you go too long without getting an oil change, the engine begins to sputter, spurt and all kinds of problems begin to happen. Your body is no different, you go too long without drinking enough water each day, your body will begin to show signs of not working properly.

What’s more is that water helps control your hunger pangs, making life much easier when you’re trying to eat our healthy portioned meals.

To make sure your water take is sufficient, we recommend you drink your body weight, divided by two in ounces. So, if you weigh 150 pounds – that would be 75 ounces of water, per day.

What about tea and coffee?

Great question! If you’re a frequent tea or coffee drinker that’s ok. They aren’t really bad for you and can be thermogenic, which means “fat-burning.

But before I go any further, let me state that flavored coffees with all kind of artificial sweeteners, creamers etc. are not only going to slow you down, they’ll likely prevent you from getting good results. (Yes, this means your daily cup of Starbucks will need to go). Ideally, you want to drink your coffee black, and like it.

In terms of Tea, this includes herbal tea and iced tea, but it doesn’t include all the powdered, canned and bottled stuff that is labeled as “tea.” “Tea” means the little teabag filled with herbs that you dip in a mug of hot water That’s it.

Overall, try to enjoy a cup or two of these along your journey. It can serve as a great way to think about all the positive changes that you are creating through the 30-Day Challenge.

The 30-Day Challenge is all about giving you an easy to use plan that takes away all the obstacles that most people run into when trying to eat healthy:
