Start 30 Day Fresh Now

Why 30 days?

The Fresh Start 30 program is designed to help you build healthy habits. At the end of the 30 days, it is our hope that you will have established better eating habits, found some exciting new meals to add to your repertoire at home, and have a better understanding of portion sizes.

We want the Fresh Start 30 program to be a launching point for your healthy lifestyle. Your plan should be a LIVABLE plan and make sense with your busy schedule. The hardest part of any lifestyle change is getting started, so leave those old habits behind with Fresh Start 30.

Do I have to do the 30 days consecutively?

The Fresh Start 30 program is as flexible as you need it to be. Follow the plan as written for 30 days or if you already have a feel for the Pure Plates menu, you’re welcome to make substitutions. If a holiday or out of town travel gets in the way of your program, just don’t order food for those out of town days, and resume your program when you return. Repeat days, repeat the whole plan … the Fresh Start 30 program is completely customizable and can be tailored to fit your needs.

Am I just eating Pure Plates food for 30 days?

Pure Plates will provide three meals and two snacks a day for 30 days. You have the option to make any changes to your meal plan that you would like, but if you’re following the Fresh Start 30 program to the letter, you’ll mostly be eating Pure Plates for the next 4 weeks. That’s why it’s important to let us know about any food likes/dislikes before getting started so that your plan can be customized to better suit your needs.

If you would like to add any “extras” during your meal plan, black coffee or tea (caffeine is fine in moderation), unsweetened tea, unlimited raw or steamed vegetables, 1-2 tennis ball-sized pieces of fruit and water are all good things to add.

What is the daily cost of the meal plan?

The daily cost of our Fresh Start 30 plan is simply the total cost of the food you’re taking home. The calorie plans, as well as substitutions, account for the range in prices. We’ve gone to great lengths to make sure that these healthy pre-portioned meals are available to you at and affordable cost. Research from Gallup tells us that the average American spends $22-$27 per day on food. Our meal plans, depending on which one you choose, will be within a few dollars of that daily average.

Do I need to pay up front?

No, pre-payment of the program is not required. You simply pay each time you pick up your meals for each 5-day period. However, if you feel that pre-paying your meal plan will keep you more committed to your goals, then you are welcome to load the full cost of your meal plan on a Pure Plates Gift Card. You would then use that Gift Card to pay for your Fresh Start 30 meals.

Can I just do Five days?

You are welcome to do as many days of meals as you would like. Pure Plates also has a 5-Day Fast Start program that’s five days of meals and snacks. If you’re not sure you’re ready for a full 30 days, our mini meal plans are a great option. Just ask for the 5-Day Fast Start Plan when you come in the store.

What should I expect during my 30 days?

A habit is defined as “an acquired mode of behavior that has become nearly or completely involuntary.” Old habits die hard, so whether it’s an after dinner dessert or after work glass of wine, making some dietary changes takes work.

You may also be adjusting to eating smaller meals more regularly. Try setting a reminder on your phone to eat your Pure Plates meal or snack every 2-3 hours and breakfast within an hour of waking up. You should adjust to the smaller portion sizes within the first few days as Pure Plates meals pack in fiber, protein and heart-healthy fats to increase satiety. You shouldn’t feel full eating Pure Plates meals, but you shouldn’t be ravenously hungry either. Find that healthy balance.

What if I get hungry?

Low calorie raw vegetables make a great addition to any meal or snack. They’re nutrient filled, fiber filled and filling, so load up on as many as you’d like! Drink extra water throughout the day. Thirst is often mistaken for hunger so make sure you’re well hydrated. As a general rule, take your body weight, divide it by 2, and that’s how many ounces of water you should be drinking every day for optimal function. For a sweet craving, a tennis ball size piece of fruit is around 60 calories so it’s fine to add in 1-2 pieces during the day.

Can I drink alcohol or have dessert for 30 days?

If your goal is weight loss, then try to limit yourself to one extra or “treat” each day. That’s a good rule of thumb going forward as well. If you have a cookie for lunch, then there’s not as much room for a glass of wine later.

The Fresh Start 30 meal plan focuses on nutrient-dense vs calorie dense foods. Most sweets and alcohol contribute empty calories and sugar. Limiting your treats to the weekend helps maintain that healthy 90/10 balance. But if you can stick to a 5 oz glass of wine or a square of dark chocolate, then most foods are OK in moderation. Just keep your goals in mind and be aware of where your calories are coming from in your food and drink.

What should I do for exercise?

Current recommendations are to aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity most days of the week and two or more days of muscle strengthening activity. Plan on including activity (walking, weight training, running, cross training, etc) as part of your program. The goal is to burn more calories than you’re taking in.

What sort of results can I expect?

A healthy rate of weight loss on any lifestyle program is 1-2 pounds per week. If a pound is 3,500 calories, you’re cutting 500 calories each day to lose a pound. That’s why exercise is key!

The average weight loss our customers can expect from the Fresh Start 30 program is 6 -15 pounds in 30 days. Those results are typical. But remember, you can’t eat a bunch of junk and not workout and then on day 30 say, “I don’t know why I didn’t hit my goals?” Discipline will be key during this 30-day journey.

What do I do after the 30 days are over?

Your Fresh Start 30 program should provide you with the basic materials for putting together a healthy eating plan that will last you for years! For most of us, it’s the reset on serving size that is most significant. We all have busy lives, fast food is convenient, and restaurants serve you too much food. It’s easy to fall into bad habits, but with a solid lifestyle plan (and a little bit of planning each week), you should be able to maintain your weight loss with some healthier habits.

You should have your list of Pure Plates favorites at the end of 4 weeks. Use us for your trickiest meals or snacks or feel free to repeat your meal plan. It’s up to you. Pure Plates is excited to be a part of helping you stick to
your healthy habits!
